I read
a lot and that probably does not come as much of a shock to anyone, but there are not that many books that I have enjoyed
as much as this one. Some of the contributing authors in the book you will recognize because in the past few months their
work has been featured here. If you are like me though, and still not as widely read as you would like to be no matter how
hard you try, then you will find new names that you can watch for in the future as I have. One
of my greatest loves of reading is being able to lose myself in the other worlds created by authors. The short stories and
poetry collected in this volume are each one an excellent excuse to let your mind go and follow the authors into the dark
worlds they have created for us. That being said, the only real complaint I have with the book is that the journeys all came
to an end too soon. Again though, if you are like me, I am sure you feel that way with all good stories Also I would like to tell you about the artwork that has also been included in this anthology. The
best way that I can describe it is that these artists have windows that let them see into dark and tortured places, and they
have brought back the things they have seen to share with us all. Some of the pieces are simple in their style, others are
more intricate in their detail, but they are all captivating in their own way. I
have read the book now from cover to cover, and I am sure I will read it many more times, but I still find myself picking
up the book to look at the artwork again. Sometimes there are things I did not see in a piece before, and other times the
feeling I get when I look at a piece has changed. I think it could be something in the imagination you don't realize is
there, whispering away into your subconscious, hinting at what might be waiting if you could step through one of those windows
and into the places beyond. If the book sounds like something you would
enjoy it is now available through Amazon with the appropriate link below. Also I have a link to The Horror Zine below
and on my links page for anyone interested in checking that out as well. Three of the contributing authors from the book are
featured in this month's issue of Death Head Grin, and they are Chris Castle, Jason D. Brawn and Dennis Bagwell.
Also in the review is the cover art for And Now the Nightmare Begins: The Horror Zine, and it is a piece by Ryan
Doan who is just one of the many artists whose work you will find in the anthology. ![]()
